What it is
Hundreds of swirls, one very happy birthday
The skirt of the gown is real cake, covered in row after row of hand-piped buttercream ruffles and swirls, finished with tiny sugar flowers. The birthday child picks the colours; the doll at the top wears them like couture.
It photographs beautifully, it cuts like a normal celebration cake, and it is the cake children describe to their friends the next day — in detail.
